Description:

Airbnb is looking for a Systems Engineer to join its Business Technology (BizTech) organization in Bangalore. This unique position bridges core backend systems engineering with cutting-edge artificial intelligence. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise microservices and financial data integrations using Python. Additionally, you will play a key part in expanding Airbnb's AI capabilities by designing AI-assisted automations and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations to build intelligent agents that scale internal operations across finance, procurement, and analytics platforms.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 5+ years of professional hands-on Python programming experience.
• Direct hands-on experience building AI agent integrations and working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or modern intelligent automation architectures.
• A proven track record of constructing and supporting complex multi-system integrations while maintaining deep security principles (including PGP, SSH, OAuth, HTTPS, and SFTP).
• Expert familiarity with Relational and NoSQL database structures, including the ability to write, review, and optimize PL/SQL logic, alongside experience publishing and consuming governance-aligned web services.
• Complete lifecycle implementation experience (from requirements mapping to Go-Live and post-production support) using GitHub and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior exposure to automated workflows using Oracle BIP, Object Storage, IAM/IDCS infrastructure, or domain experience within financial tech systems.
• High technical accountability, strong written and verbal communication, and a clear enthusiasm for scaling AI integration capabilities.
